Representación hecha al Rey Nro. Sr. Dn. Ferndo. Sexto por los Yndios de la Nueva Espana : Guadalajara, Mexico : ms., ca. 1755.

Petition by Fernando Bustillo, Regidor of Nueva Galicia, to King Fernando VI to create a school for the education of Indians. Written on behalf of Don Juan Cirilo de Castilla, an Indian priest of noble descent from Tlaxcala, as well as in the name of all Indians, his requests directly conflict with the reforms of the time. Bustillo opposes attempts of the government to impose Spanish as the official language and stresses the Indians' need to be taught, preached to, and have their confessions heard in their own languages. Includes a printed copy of Bustillo's "Relacion de meritos, y exercicios literarios."
